Yes, the good old Ontario government is considering introducing yet another tax. I know I know, I’m not surprised either.
This new tax will apply to anyone who buys real estate in Ontario. Just like the Land Transfer Tax, this will be another tax applied at the time of purchase of Ontario real estate. This will hurt everyone from new homebuyers to investors to anyone else who owns property in Ontario. Why? Because it makes the cost of real estate more expensive, which means the value of your property drops accordingly.
