As you may know, the Byward Market is the heart of Ottawa and Ottawa tourism. With that comes much development and some very cool buildings.
This exciting new condo is scheduled for a very cool location, the Arts Court at Waller & Daly, and promises to be one of the more interesting and exciting condo towers for our downtown. Steps away from the newly developing Rideau Center, the Byward Market’s restaurants & retail, the new light rail station, and Ottawa University.
This proposed condo at the corner of Waller & Daly (south edge of the Byward Market), appears to moving forward with the city, and is projected to be a 23 storey, and $34 million project. The city has recently overruled a previous appeal from certain residents of the area, and plans to move forward.
The city of Ottawa has narrowed down its decision to 3 finalists for development. According to the Centretown news, ‘The three shortlisted groups are Montreal-based EBC Inc., DevMcGill and Groupe Germain; Greater Toronto Area-based Mizrahi Developments and Bondfield Construction Company; and the District Development Group, which consists of Montreal-based Broccolini and Ottawa-based Moriyama & Teshima Architects.’ All of them very reputable developers, it will be interesting to see which way the city goes with this one.
